Forest School for Avon Class children takes place on Thursday afternoons in the Autumn and Summer term. During the year each year group will have several sessions of Forest School. You will receive a letter before your child's sessions start.
Forest School uses the outdoor environment to help all children learn. Your child will be encouraged to develop their independence, decision making skills and practical abilities whilst learning to care for the environment around them. The children will use the orchard area by the car park and also use the wooded area behind the school. They will need to wear suitable clothing as Forest School takes place whatever the weather!! The only exceptions to the rule are storms or thunder and lightning. During Forest School sessions, the children enjoy hot chocolate and a plain biscuit. If you prefer your child to have their own drink and snack please send this in on Forest School days, together with any required medication.
Forest School has been running at Isbourne Valley School for a number of years, and all children who have attended in the past have reported that it has been a wonderful experience and thoroughly enjoyed it.
