Reading

Children should read their school reading book to an adult at least three times each week.

Please make a note in the reading record when your child reads. Pupils need to bring their reading records into school every day so that we can also note in them when they read with an adult in school.

We collect their reading records in every Monday to review.

Maths

Mangahigh homework is set on a Friday and due the following Friday.

The first Mangahigh homework will be set on Friday 15th September.

Your child’s Managhigh login details are stuck in their reading record.

Times Tables

It is really important that the children practise and learn their times tables. They all have login details for Times Table Rockstars and should use this system to help them with their times tables.

We will start to have regular times tables tests later in the term and I will let you know when these are going to start.

Spellings

Spellings are given out each Friday and tested the following Friday. Children need to practise these at home – reading them to make sure they know what the words are and that they understand them, covering them and writing them, then checking whether they have spelt them correctly.

The first set of spellings will be set on Friday 15th September.
